Pixel

Giant retro, recreational and interactive video arcade

Pixel was an immersive experience designed and produced by MATIÈRS which propelled visitors into a world reserved exclusively for the pleasure of playing. Arcade games from the 80s and 90s served as the background for a narrative universe that was divided into five scenes.

Upon entering, visitors were surrounded by an off-the-wall decor inspired by iconic objects from the same era. The temptation was too strong and everyone instinctively wanted to push the buttons, go through the labyrinth and activate the levers. The wacky retro scenes followed on from one another along a colourful, luminous and sometimes even ultraviolet route.

Pixel played with volumes, shattered forms and put vintage technology back in the driver’s seat. The madcap game room had all the necessary ingredients to conjure up the pleasures of getting together to play.
